Hurricane Ian Makes Landfall in Southwest Florida
On September 28, 2022 Hurricane lan was a direct hit to Pine Island as a category 4.5 with sustained winds of 150+mph (240+kmh). It was a very slowly moving storm, and caused massive amounts of damage and flooding for the entire SWFL coast. Roads and bridges to the island were destroyed which delayed access. It's taken weeks to restore power and water. Although it was not a total loss, we did suffer large amounts of damage. Our greenhouse took the biggest hit, and we lost thousands of seedlings. The grove took a beating as well and most of the trees were flattened. In response to people who have asked how they can help we created a GoFundMe. It's been so incredible to see the amount of effort and help people have offered and we are very humbled. We're confident we will grow back stronger and better than ever!! A huge thanks and big hugs to everyone. Our hearts go out to all that have been affected by the storm. The GoFundMe link is Rebuild Fruit Tree Greenhouse on Pine Island.
Be fruitful always,

MEET THE FOUNDERS
MARSHALL S. NATHANSON III
Marshall is our go to tree climber and doubles as the project's travel agent, web developer, videographer, and taste tester. We can count on him to develop travel plans and strong relationships with local fixers. His favorite Annona thusfar is a perfectly ripe A. reticulata 'Havana' directly from the mother tree.
ERIC P. BRYLLE
Eric journeyed through the Mexican states of Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas where he participated in weeks of hands on permaculture courses. His interests include natural building, rainwater catchment, Spanish and Portugese languages, and did we mention tacos?
Stephen "STEVE" CUCURA
Steve has developed intimate knowledge on the seasonality and cultivation of Annonaceous fruits with over twenty years of direct involvement in Florida's fruit tree business under his belt. We entrust our one of a kind, impossible to propagate Annnonas to Steve. He'll get the graft to take or the seed to germinate.
